We aim to provide a space for our community to host various events, meetings, and gatherings.

In the Fall of 2022, Friends of Bayou St. John, producers of The Bayou Boogaloo, proudly launched the Bayou Backyard, a solar-powered outdoor community event space, located on the corner of Orleans and Rendon in the heart of Mid City, behind the BayouWorks office space (which also serves as the office and festival command center for Bayou Boogaloo).

To kick things off, the football turf lined 3,300 square foot space hosts a series of comedy shows, art markets, and interactive drum circles throughout October and November, as well as serve as a viewing hub for select sporting events.

The multi-purpose outdoor space is available for rent for a multitude of events, gatherings, meetings, parties, etc.
